York

I’m finally travelling by train and I’m so happy. The weather is the classic English grey, we’ve just arrived in Peterborough and there’s a beautiful gothic cathedral in the distance, I might have to stop here once to have a look. Despite not being religious anymore I still am fascinated by the architecture and grandiosity of cathedrals. I missed going inside Notre Dame last time I was in Paris (still going through repairs due to the fire a few years ago).

I’m not sure what to expect in York, I’m hoping it won’t rain for too long, though photos after the rain are a favourite of mine. I love to kneel on the pavement to capture the reflections on the wet stones, and I’m hoping that will be the case today too.

Seen the weather as it is I decided to leave Phileas (my drone) home for the day, also better to use the drone when it’s the two of us. Will I regret it? Let you know this evening.

Gear that I have with me today: Canon EOS RP, 18-135mm lens f/3.5, 35mm lens f/1.8, nd filters for both lenses and the polarised one for the zoom lens. Hope for good portraits, stories, videos.

I’ll write more on my way back.
