Rainy day in France

My Rainy Day In France playlist n*1 is at the end of the post 😊

I’m in France with my husband. We’re in this tiny village on the border with Switzerland, pet sitting 4 wonderful cats, relaxing in this beautiful big house, and working on projects (well me, hubby is ACTUALLY getting paid to work lol). We decided not to rent a car, mistake? Maybe… We have to hike uphill to the next village in Switzerland to get groceries, the only shop in town has literally 6 overpriced items… So hiking it is! Always wanted to know what it felt like to be in the 1700s where if you were poor you’d walk everywhere, so there we go 😂 Except that I might not die from a paper cut. And we have supermarkets with plenty. And we have showers. So there you go.

We do have a tram in here, but it takes basically the same amount of time to get to the station than to the next village, more than happy to save the money!

It’s cold, windy and rainy today (es regnet und es ist sehr windig, my German lessons are working lol), I’m working on my York travel video but the MacBook needs time to process stuff, so I have Spotify on while Jack, the 18 year old black cat, sleeps besides me, Freddie the huge Persian is sleeping on his tower by the window, while Poppy and Lilli are probably upstairs tucked in some warm corner. I have been feeling a bit lousy since yesterday so Jack hasn’t left my side, even coming under the blankets with me in bed when the alarm went off, on the sofa kneading biscuits on my leg, on my lap while I started working, and now he’s sleeping on the chair by me. Is it possible that a cat I met last Friday would already be feeling my being under the weather? I just think that in a week when we’ll have to leave them it’ll be really really hard…

So anyway, I went grocery shopping yesterday despite feeling cramps and legs stiffness (women: if you know you know), and the endorphins actually helped for a couple hours. As I also am probably ADHD and in need for a constant infusion of dopamine I took my camera with me and managed to get some good landscape and tram tracks shots (I’ve had a thing for railway tracks since I was a kid, I love trains a lot, but tracks have a special corner in my heart saved only for them… yep I’m weird like that).

Poppy

This is Poppy, she’s a 3 year old, funny and playful girl who loves strokes while she eats. She’s running around all the time like she doesn’t have time, or sleeping in the dresser.
