Booked myself a solo, 24 hours in Paris

And I am a little nervous. Paris is one of my favourite places in the world, but it’s also one of the places that usually lets me down the most.

Last time I was there, a year ago, it was again dirty (unlike right after the pandemic where even the metro trains were spotless), people were urinating all over the place, and Parisians were extremely rude once realising that I was a lowly tourist (despite my efforts to speak French).

My French is stronger this year, I am stronger, I have more courage and a schedule.

I booked myself a ticket to the Musee de l’Orangerie, so if it’s raining I can go there for an hour or two (and I’m sure I can get good shots with Monet’s water lilies as a backdrop 😍), plus I do love museums and immersing myself in art, and now all that’s left is making an itinerary.

For once since the pandemic started (this will be the third time I go to Paris in 3 years), I won’t be going to try pastries, so that level of anxiety can F off. Win! It’s only for photos, and street photography at that. My first solo-trip to Paris. Oh Mother Earth am I excited. I shall also bring my film camera 🤩

Dear reader, if you have suggestions for good spots in Paris for street photography (where I won’t be robbed), please leave a comment.

Love,
