River Tay walk, Perth

An afternoon stroll before it starts to rain again …

We’re in Perth for the weekend, we flew up here yesterday in the morning, had a (very wet) stroll in Edinburgh before catching the train to the gateway to the Highlands.

Scotland is absolutely as lovely as I’d imagined. As is the cat we’re taking care of…

Luna

Isn’t she a beauty?

The home we’re looking after is very close to the river Tay, so we thought we’d take a walk after lunch, enjoying the little sun that peeked through the clouds today. (Don’t worry: it’s raining again now!

The river goes really really fast, it’s very tidal and the current drags you away, and unfortunately this means that there’s at least one death a year of people falling in. So being extra careful when going close is a must-do: make sure the rocks are dry and you don’t walk too close to the grassy edge.

They apparently had a really bad storm a few weeks ago, so lots of trees fell down and they were in very awkward positions. Got good shots of them in the water though!

High contrast to really show this picture through the shadows rather than anything else.

The water ripples were absolutely gorgeous too, had fun shooting exclusively water too!

We proceeded along muddy paths, trying not to slip, up and down the light hills, and saying hello to the dog walkers (how foreign for two Londoners), and trying to make friends with the dogs (of course!). We then got to a stony wall, that looked like it was built at least in the 1700s, and started to feel a couple droplets of rain, it was very windy so the clouds gathered pretty fast. We turned to walk back (it was also feeding time for our little Luna, so we hurried up), didn’t catch the rain, and I took a bit of time to go through the photos and give it an edit on Lightroom.

I’m gonna have to go figure out the oven now, wanna make jacket potatoes with Scottish salmon and mature cheddar… getting hungry only thinking about it 😋 Let me know your thoughts on the photos if you want to leave a comment! Leave you with two more…
